Classically trained flautist, Alene Brede, introduces her new band of “one”, appropriately named  “The Fluted Edge”.  While many cover bands exist to play easy listening favorites, it is the uniqueness of her instrument which gives her sound the “edge” over the traditional fare. 

Audiences have been  pleasantly surprised when familiar and sometimes “overplayed” favorites, are presented in such a “fresh“ way.  The warm and rich tones of what Alene lovingly calls her “magic flute”,  are an “unusual” and “refreshing” change from solo sax, trumpet or guitar bands.

Her repertoire is flexible and includes such hits as “Saving All My Love For You”, “Unforgettable” and “Dust in the Wind”.   Selections such as Copacabana and Lazy Day provide a whimsy to her performance that delights audiences and reminds us why these songs were popular. 

Having debuted her sound at Campaign Kick Offs, Charity Events and the Jubilante Jazz Restaurant,  The Fluted Edge has won accolades from both young and old.  So, if you’re looking for something “different’ in entertainment or just want to add a “touch of class” to an evening, The Fluted Edge is a good bet.
